Sur la flûte traversière (2011) is a study on some of the resources available on the flute and also on certain constructive devices that have being at the core of my work for some time now. In Sur la flûte different motivic cells are reworked quite exhaustively over an overarching structural deceleration. These different motives appeal to quite different affects. The one that sounds like Mozart is actually the incipit of Tamino’s aria ‘Wie stark ist nicht dein Zauberton’
Recorded Live. November 10, 2012. Fulton Hall. University of Chicago.
